Geri Lyon is a newly published children’s book author who is also one of our dear clients. After a three year hiatus, she finally had the opportunity to meet her grandkids last year. She was so excited and the experience so monumental that she was inspired to write a book about it to share her joy with the world. After the book was published, Geri came to Island Ship Center to involve our expertise on an upcoming project. She needed custom made stickers, business cards, and a large bound and laminated book to take at book readings and share with kids. All of these items had to match the artistic cover of the original book. Seema took on the challenge and, with the help of Laura at Laurel Tree Bindery, came up with a unique, handmade book that was ready for Geri to show off and read from at her upcoming book reading events.

Each page was enlarged, set up for the book in segments, printed, laminated, and then cut. After we had done all of that, we turned it over to Laura who stitched the segments together and hand made the front and back covers of the book with the printed and laminated pages. The result was a beautiful, handmade, one of a kind book. 

When we unveiled the book to Geri last Saturday, we took a video to share her joy with the world. She was exuberant and proudly exclaimed that the result far exceeded her expectations. We were so thankful and happy to share in that moment and had to share that with all of you.
