This year, we are hosting our Support A Soldier Event on Veteran’s Day, Monday, November 11th, 2019. We are open normal hours that day (from 9 am to 6:30 pm). This event is our third annual and it helps connect our community with active duty military personnel all across the globe that are serving from Grand Island, New York. We are working with the elementary schools again this year to get cards written for the soldiers by all the children. Once again, we encourage all of you to come by on that day and help us pack the care packages for our troops, many of whom are graduates of Grand Island High School. Our goal is to send a care package to every active duty military personnel from Grand Island so that he/she receives it in time for the holidays. Last year we received several heartfelt notes from recipients thanking us for this event and these care packages.
You can also come by and sponsor a shipping box for only $22. We have created a separate line item in our POS system called “Support A Soldier.” All monies raised in this account will go 100% to shipping these packages to active duty military stationed worldwide from Grand Island.
What’s more, if your son or daughter is active duty military, please let us know by emailing us or sending a private message via Facebook.
Finally, we have started a collection of items to ship that day and you are encouraged to bring by more as donations. These include, toothbrushes, socks, deodorant (travel size preferred), personal toiletry items, noodles, chips, candy and other acceptable items that are allowed to ship to military addresses.
