A couple of years ago, as we added different services to our existing mix of offerings, one of the services we selected was package holding, also known as parcel storage, specifically for our Canadian guests. We designed a new contract for this service (working closely with our attorney/business mentor), a special page for Canadian guests (which can easily be reached by typing in www.islandshipcentre.com since Canadians spell the word “center” as “centre”) and designated space in our warehouse for additional incoming packages. Little did we realize the demand for this service or more importantly, the impact we could make in the lives of those using our service. As 2023 comes to a close, with over 500 satisfied Canadian guests using our package receiving services, one such elated guest took the time out to share her experience with us online and credit our amazing team with making a permanent memory for her kids this past Christmas:
So grateful to Jasmine and the team at Island Ship Centre for helping me with a very important Santa gift this Christmas! After an Amazon 3rd party carrier failed to get me my gift on time, I had to scramble to buy another table top ping pong table – my children’s only request from Santa. Available only in the US so close to Christmas, Jasmine at Island Ship Centre helped me to arrange to have the large, heavy package shipped to them. She effectively communicated with me throughout the process and ensured that I was notified by another team member when the package arrived on her day off. Picking up the package was easy, just a short 15 min trip over the Rainbow Bridge. Fahim kindly loaded the package into my car within just a couple of minutes of arriving. It was a seamless process and I’m very thankful for their support. My kids were thrilled on Christmas morning. The looks on their faces made the trip worthwhile. Thanks Jasmine, Fahim, Jordan and your team for helping me to make Christmas special for my kids!
Her words moved us to continue improving our business by listening to our guests and incorporating feasible services into our seemingly full plate.
