On Wednesday, Seema and I hosted a “Celebration of Gratitude” party for members of the Grand Island Golden Age Center. We invited these youthfully senior members of Grand Island to our facility to thank them for their support of our business over the years. We also wanted to play games and have a memorable, fun time.
After first popping sheets of bubbles, each member received a prize from our prize selection. Then, we played “Shipping Bingo,” in which all the answers were actually different services that we offer at our location, like furniture shipping, cell phone repair and laminations.
We then had refreshments and saved the best game for last: The Skittles Game. In this game, we placed handfuls of Skittles candy into a bowl; we passed the bowl around and asked each participant to take one piece, without looking. Each color that they received represented a question that we would ask them, which they would have to answer in public. Here is a list of the questions asked, corresponding to the color of the Skittles candy that was picked:
- RED – WHAT DO YOU MISS ABOUT THE PAST?
- GREEN – ANYTHING THAT YOU REGRET?
- YELLOW – SOMEONE YOU LOST THAT YOU MISS THE MOST AND WHY
- PURPLE – FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY
- ORANGE – FAVORITE FOOD
Overall, we all had a joyous time and look forward to welcoming these inspiring guests to our facility again next year for this celebration.
