On Wednesday, my wife Seema and I, along with Theresa and two other special hosts, had the honor and privilege to welcome over 2 dozen members of the Grand Island Golden Age Center into our store, mailbox / business center and our warehouse.
We wanted to show our appreciation to them for supporting us throughout the years. They are the backbone of the community and we wouldn’t have been able to be here without them. The turnout was amazing!
Betty Kogler, our dear friend, client, (GI resident for over 42 years) and supporter, started the event with some kind words.
Then, we played games like a shipping themed bingo, talked, ate appetizers, and had fun.
A couple of the energized seniors wanted sheets of bubble pack to pop while they waited so we enjoyed watching them play with bubbles like little children. Five lucky people went home with prizes as well. In the end, they sang “This Land is Your Land” as well as our own Grand Island song. All in all, it was very delightful and we hope to host a similar event next year, based on popular demand from our valued guests.
To all the seniors (and citizens in general) of Grand Island: We respect you, appreciate you, and love you! Thank you for your encouragement and support. A special thank you goes out to Betty Kogler and Anmol Grewal for helping us host this momentous event.
