Balynda recently lost her husband to Parkinson’s Disease in October of 2020. Bob was also a dear guest of the Island Ship Center for over 14 years. Before he passed away, he had a special request to make sure his nephew in California would receive some pieces of his most precious furniture items, including a chair owned by his late father.
Balynda contacted us and asked if we would be willing to assist in this project. We were truly honored and grateful to bring our expertise into making memories for Balynda and for Bob’s nephew in California. In early March, our crew arrived to Balynda’s house and began carefully moving the furniture pieces, one by one.
Each item was one of a kind, because it belonged to Bob and could not be replaced or damaged. We felt the burden of this responsibility and made sure our entire team was aware of it as well. As we completed the move, we brought the items to our warehouse, packed them safely (by making a crate around them), palletized them and shipped them out via truck. Once Bob’s nephew received the items safely, he contacted us to let us know.
A big shout out to Uhaul on Perry Street in Buffalo who provided an exceptional experience in renting a truck for this move. We are so delighted to be of service to our guests with our services.

I have been a guest of Fahim and Seema’s business for many years. Before my husband passed away in late 2020, he had expressed his wish that several special pieces of his parent’s furniture remain in the family. My husband wanted them to go to his nephew in California. I immediately thought of Fahim to help me fulfill my husband’s wish. Fahim and Seema spent time with me in my home to measure and provide estimates for shipping the furniture. We enjoyed talking about my late husband and his longtime friendship with Fahim. Within days, Fahim and his team members carefully moved all the furniture giving each piece the “white glove” attention which I so appreciated. The items arrived in California in the same impeccable shape as when they were removed from my home.
